New Facility on Patterson

You may have noticed all the work being done at

1729 Patterson Avenue. This historic house, which was purchased by Restoration Housing in 2024, has been receiving some much needed maintenance the past few months.

Isabel Thornton, Executive Director of Restoration Housing, shared with us that the house is to operate under the name "The Grove on Patterson," and will be a treatment center for up to 16 pregnant and postpartum women and their newborns. The women and infants can stay at The Grove on Patterson for up to six months. The facility will be staffed at all times.

The Grove on Patterson fills a role that had been filled previously by Bethany House, which operated in Roanoke for 52 years before closing in 2022, and is partnering with Restoration Housing, Carillion Clinic, and Anderson Treatment.

Thornton predicts the facility will be operational in April of this year, at which time the Director of The Grove on Patterson, Donna Littlepage, will become the main point of contact for the facility.
